Pediatric Advanced Life Support is the Third Level Cardiac course provided by American Heart Association for the medical staff at the Advanced EMT, nursing, doctor, respiratory therapy, and other equivalent MD and Mid-Level license levels. state protocols MUST have PALS to gain their AEMT state license.

The PALS curriculum is centered around excellent patient care, and aimed at providing the highest degree of Advanced Pediatric Care. Pediatric Advanced Life Support is the Pediatric Advanced course you take that explains how to run a code in and out of the hospital world on the pediatric population. It talks about the 4 shocks, the 4 airways, and the 4 rhythm trees that are included in pediatric critical care. It teaches you how to respond to Cardiac Arrest in pediiatrics and Infants with a manual defibrillator and pharmacology. It utilizes IV and IO access in the pediatric population. PALS is required for most hospital jobs by most major hospitals. Most Mid-Level Providers are required to maintain their PALS every 2 years with renewals.
