Once paid, funds are allocated to course materials, instructor costs, and state fees. Deposits may hold a spot; full balance is due before class begins. Students may transfer once to another class if requested 7+ days prior to start. Attendance Policy Students must attend all class dates. Up to 2 absences may be excused with instructor approval and valid reason. All missed time must be made up, subject to availability and possible fees. Code of Conduct Professional behavior is required. Disruptive or unsafe actions may result in dismissal without refund. Dress code and safety rules must be followed at all times. Academic Integrity Cheating, falsifying documentation, or submitting someone else’s work results in dismissal. All work must be your own. Certification Requirements Students must: Complete all course hours Pass all exams and skill tests Meet NREMT and state requirements Complete bundled certs (e.g. BLS, Stop the Bleed) Clinical Ride-Alongs (if applicable) Some courses include EMS ride time. You must pass a background check, submit immunization records or waiver, and act professionally at all times. No-shows for clinicals may result in failure. Required Materials Students need: Textbook (if not issued) Stethoscope Notebook/laptop/Tablet Tech & Media Policy Laptops are allowed; phone use is not during testing or skills labs. No unauthorized photo or video recording. By enrolling, you agree to allow class photos/videos to be used for training or promotion unless you opt out in writing. Liability Waiver Training involves physical activity and simulated emergencies. You assume responsibility for participation and agree to release Utah’s Academy of Emergency Medicine from liability for injuries during course activities.
